Why Did My Linked Bank (ACH) Debit Fail?

If your linked bank (ACH) debit fails, it is typically due to changes in your bank’s connection settings. Below are common reasons for this issue and steps to resolve it.

Common Reasons for ACH Debit Failure

  1. Password Change

    • If you have updated the password for your bank account, the connection to your bank may need to be refreshed.

  2. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Requirements

    • Your bank may now require a one-time password (OTP) for security purposes. This extra step involves entering a code sent to your email or phone to verify your identity.

Resolving the Issue

  1. Identify the Problem

    • After a failure, you will see a red error message indicating the issue.

  2. Relink Your Bank

    • Click the Relink button to log back into your bank account.

    • Follow the prompts to enter your updated password or complete the MFA process (if applicable).

  3. Restore the Connection

    • Once you successfully log in and complete the authentication, the connection will be restored.

    • You can then continue using bank (ACH) debit as normal.

By ensuring your bank details are up-to-date and following these steps, you can quickly resolve any ACH debit issues.
