Xtrm provides three distinct levels of account access that govern how your company interacts with, views, and manages other business and individual accounts across the platform.
These access levels determine data visibility, management permissions, and automated API capabilities when orchestrating payouts to vendors, partners, or connected entities.
Key System Concepts
Connections Are Not Required to Send Payments: You can disburse funds to any registered individual or business without an active connection via Xtrm Wallet, Bank Transfer, Prepaid Card, Digital Gift Card, or Check.
Automatic Contact Creation: Whenever you issue a payment to a company or individual, they are automatically added to your Contact List for simplified future payment routing.
Connections Are One-Way: Account permissions are non-reciprocal. Granting or obtaining Level 2 access to a connected entity does not grant that entity visibility into your own company account.
For example, if your company connects to another company and receives Level 2 access to their account, this does not automatically grant them Level 2 access to your account.
Access Level Classifications & How to Obtain Access
Level 1: Standard (First Payment / API / Branded Signup / Support)Level 2: Connected (Account Manager / Support Approval)Level 3: Manager Services
| Access Level | Name | Target Scope | Primary Capabilities | How Access Is Established |
| Level 1 | Standard | Default level for all registered company accounts. | Search, view, and send payments to any registered user or entity on Xtrm. Add companies to your primary Contact List. | Automatically granted to all active Xtrm company accounts upon registration. |
| Level 2 | Connected | Linked client, vendor, partner, or individual accounts. | Expanded visibility into beneficiary company/user profiles, basic user roles, and transaction history. Enables Bank Direct payments via API. | Granted via first payment initiation, account creation (UI/API), branded signup pages, or support requests. |
| Level 3 | Manager Services | Integrated ISVs, agencies, developers, and managing partners. | Administrative management tools allowing you to configure wallets, link bank accounts, and oversee connected child accounts on behalf of clients. | Granted upon formal review and approval by Xtrm Account Management / Support. |
Obtaining Level 2 Connected Status (Company & Personal Accounts)
You can establish a Level 2 Connection with a Company or Personal (Individual) account through any of the following five methods:
First Payment Initiation: Your company is the first entity to pay the recipient via Mass Pay file submission, API payment, or the Send tool in the Xtrm portal.
API Account Creation: Your company provisions the company or personal account programmatically using the Xtrm API.
User Interface Account Creation: Your company manually provisions the company or personal account directly within the Xtrm portal.
Branded Signup Page Registration: The entity or individual registers via your company's custom branded Xtrm signup portal (yourcompany.xtrm.com)
Support-Assisted Connection: Xtrm establishes the connection upon administrative request.
What Happens After Level 2 Connection
Company Accounts: Appear in your Contacts list and can be filtered under Connected Companies.
Personal Accounts: Appear in your Contacts list and can be filtered under Connected Users.
System Functionality: Unlocks Level 2 visibility features, including masked bank account views and API Bank Direct payments.
Requesting a Manual Connection: If a company or personal account is not automatically connected through the methods above, email support@xtrm.com with the Full Name and Email Address associated with the target account to request a manual link.
